Join us for a creative retreat filled with sewing, learning, laughter, and a little bit of everything. During this four-night retreat, guests will enjoy open sewing time, hands-on projects, creative classes, and a special logo-design activity — all in the relaxed, welcoming setting of My Sister’s Sewing Sanctuary.

Enjoy five days of creativity, learning, and relaxation at My Sister's Sewing Sanctuary. Each day you'll explore a different quilting or sewing technique while enjoying comfortable accommodations, delicious meals, and plenty of time to sew alongside new friends. Whether you're trying something new or expanding your skills, We will be there to guide you every step of the way.

Bring your sewing machine, basic quilting supplies, and your enthusiasm for trying something new! Because this retreat features several different projects, a detailed supply list for each class will be emailed after registration and again before the retreat.

Throughout the retreat you'll create a variety of fun projects while learning new techniques. Planned projects include:
Personalized notebook cover
Sanctuary Star quilt block
Fabric collage
English Paper Piecing (Hexagons)
One-on-one logo design session
Optional embroidery support for your custom logo
Every guest will leave with new skills, completed projects, and plenty of inspiration for future quilting adventures.

Your registration includes four nights of lodging, continental breakfasts, lunches, dinners, and snacks throughout the retreat. Relax, sew, and let us take care of the cooking so you can focus on learning, creating, and enjoying your time with fellow quilters.

Each day features a new project, hands-on instruction, free sewing time, and plenty of opportunities to relax and connect with other guests. A detailed retreat schedule will be provided before your arrival.

❓ Is this retreat suitable for beginners?
Absolutely! This retreat is designed for quilters of all skill levels. Some projects are beginner-friendly, while others offer opportunities to learn new techniques. Basic sewing machine experience is recommended, and we will provide plenty of guidance and encouragement throughout the retreat.
🧵 What should I bring?
Bring your sewing machine, basic sewing supplies, and your enthusiasm for learning! Since this retreat features several different projects, we'll send a detailed supply list after you register and again before the retreat so you'll have plenty of time to prepare.
🪡 Can I rent a sewing machine?
Yes! Sewing machine rentals are available for $50 for the entire retreat. Simply select the rental option when you register. Quantities are limited.

Each day you'll explore a different creative technique. Planned projects include:

English Paper Piecing (Hexagons)

Projects may be adjusted slightly as we continue planning to provide the best possible retreat experience.

Use of the cutting stations, ironing stations, design walls, and shared studio equipment

💲 What is the payment and cancellation policy?
Once your registration request has been reviewed, you'll receive an invoice by email. Your reservation is confirmed once your deposit has been received. The remaining balance will be due before the retreat, with the due date listed on your invoice.

Meet Your Hosts & Instructors
Wanda Kringle
What started as a hobby quickly became a passion. For years, Wanda has gathered with her quilting friends—better known as Wanda's Wild Bunch—to sew, laugh, learn, and create beautiful quilts together.
Those friendships helped inspire the creation of My Sister's Sewing Sanctuary, where she now hosts creative retreats designed to bring people together through quilting and sewing.
During the Variety Show Retreat, Wanda will teach the Sanctuary Star Quilt Block and co-teach the Fabric Collage project. She loves helping quilters build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy the friendships that make every retreat special.
Sherri Ratliff
Sherri enjoys exploring a wide variety of sewing and quilting techniques and believes there's always something new to learn. She loves creating a welcoming environment where guests can relax, laugh, and enjoy learning together.
During the Variety Show Retreat, Sherri will teach guests how to create a Personalized Notebook Cover and introduce the timeless art of English Paper Piecing (Hexagons). Her patient, encouraging style makes every project approachable and fun.
Larissa Lindow
Larissa enjoys combining creativity with technology to help makers personalize their projects in unique ways. She has a passion for graphic design, embroidery, and finding creative solutions that bring ideas to life.
During the Variety Show Retreat, Larissa will lead One-on-One Logo Design Sessions, helping each guest create a custom logo for a project signature. She'll also provide optional embroidery support, helping guests prepare and stitch their new logo onto a project during the retreat.
